On this website I show the progress of my dollhouse. This, in half scale built, dollhouse consists of 5 Amsterdam Canal Houses. This dollhouse is a replica of the premises built at the Bickersgracht in Amsterdam in the 18th and 19th centuries. They still exist. This building was made by a grandfather for his granddaughter. When he was finished the granddaughter had other interests and the building was sold.

Kroonluchters

Last Saturday I attended a workshop with Sun. Bling, bling is not my thing. But in the staircase of number 28 belongs to hang chandeliers. Marie-Louise came up with the idea of aging the filigree. This gives the chandeliers THE effect that fits an old canalhouse.

The chandeliers Sun has designed for me in half-scale. They are 35 mm. wide and 50 mm. high.

The skull that I got. I knew what I was going to do with this. See the results here.

My inspiration was a picture on the internet. This skull with case was created by Albert Jansz Vinckenbrinck. Made out of Boxwood  this skull is carved in great detail. It is only 4 cm. in hight.

Some new items for this project

The last few days I did have some time to do some mini.
I bought a birdcages workshop from Jane Harrop with a great instruction how to age them.
Left on the picture you see a small part of the 1:12th scale birdcage I also made.

Later I finished a 1:12th scale project that I started last year. An anchor buoy and a glass globe with an ivy growing in it on a macrame rope. I had these in my bedroom hanging down from the ceiling. That was about 40 years ago.
When these were finished I made another globe with a growing ivy in it in half scale. The globe has a diameter of 1 centimetre.
A picture of all tree of it you can see on my 1:12th scale blog.

Christmas gifts from Marie-Louise

Look what a beautiful half scale presents I received during the 12 days of Christmas swap.

This stunning table with inlaid veneer table top is designed and made by Marie-Louise. The 1930s kitchen cabinet is, I suspect, a kit of Jane Harrop. The carafe is so delicately and beautifully and the lamp is also homemade.

Also a nice skull I got.
I already do have a great idea what to do with this.

I am very spoiled with all these beautiful gifts. Thank you again Marie-Louise.
